Honoring the Sea is an annual New Year’s Day ceremony, offering roses to the ocean in gratitude. Roses are provided or bring your own. We will chant to Yemanja in the Yoruban tradition of the Brazilian Orishas and share other songs for the waters. Wear white and/or blue.
Bring wood for the fire, snacks to share, water, beach chair. A drum if you have one.
3:30-4:00- Gather. Enjoy community around a fire
4:00-4:30- Ceremony: smudging, learn songs, dance
4:30-5:00- Processional to the ocean for sunset rose ceremony
5:00-6:00- Community time, snacks, enjoy the fire
